Day 38 of the 40 Days of Prayer, 1 Day of Celebrations

Tuesday, March 27, Day 38 of the 40 Days of Prayer, 1 Day of Celebration: The 2018 prayer focus in preparation of our worship of Christ for His death for our sins and the celebration for His resurrection that gives us eternal life.

Verses of the Day:
John 19:28-30 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had already been accomplished, to fulfill the Scripture, said, “I am thirsty.” A jar full of sour wine was standing there; so they put a sponge full of the sour wine upon a branch of hyssop and brought it up to His mouth.  Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

Prayer for the Day:
Because of Your great work, “It is finished!”  Your work of providing for my redemption was completed on the cross.  My salvation was made possible because “It is finished!”  My sins are forgiven because You finished the task.  Everything Your Heavenly Father asked You to do, You completed.  Every one of the requirements of the Law, You fulfilled.  Every sin I’ve ever committed and every sin that I will ever commit in the future, You paid the price.  May You be praised for “It is finished!”

Day 37 of the 40 Days of Prayer, 1 Day of Celebrations

Monday, March 26, Day 37 of the 40 Days of Prayer, 1 Day of Celebration: The 2018 prayer focus in preparation of our worship of Christ for His death for our sins and the celebration for His resurrection that gives us eternal life.

Verses of the Day:
Luke 23:44-49 It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth hour, because the sun was obscured; and the veil of the temple was torn in two. And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit.” Having said this, He breathed His last. Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he began praising God, saying, “Certainly this man was innocent.” And all the crowds who came together for this spectacle, when they observed what had happened, began to return, beating their breasts. And all His acquaintances and the women who accompanied Him from Galilee were standing at a distance, seeing these things.

Prayer for the Day:
Thank You Lord Jesus for Your gracious sacrifice for me, Your life in exchange for mine.

Day 36 of the 40 Days of Prayer, 1 Day of Celebrations

Sunday, March 25, Day 36 of the 40 Days of Prayer, 1 Day of Celebration: The 2018 prayer focus in preparation of our worship of Christ for His death for our sins and the celebration for His resurrection that gives us eternal life.

Verses of the Day:
Luke 23:39-43 One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, “Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!” But the other answered, and rebuking him said, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” And he was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!” And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”

Prayer for the Day:
Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom.  Remember me just as You promised this criminal.  By faith in Your perfect, sinless life and by faith in Your death on my behalf, bring me safely into Your eternal kingdom.  Through the power of Your resurrection, bring me to everlasting life.  Amen.
