Saturday, March 3, Day 14 of the 40 Days of Prayer, 1 Day of Celebration: The 2018 prayer focus in preparation of our worship of Christ for His death for our sins and the celebration for His resurrection that gives us eternal life.

Verses of the Day:
I Corinthians 11:27-32 Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.  But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup.  For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly.  For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep.  But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged.  But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with the world.

Prayer for the Day:
God, we confess to You that we are sinners in need of Your constant and infinite mercy.  Forgive us of our sins.  Cleanse us from our rebellious thoughts and desires.  Restore the joy of our relationship to You so that we are able to worship You with authenticity.  As we celebrate the Lord’s table on Sunday, draw us close to You.

Friday, March 2, Day 13 of the 40 Days of Prayer, 1 Day of Celebration: The 2018 prayer focus in preparation of our worship of Christ for His death for our sins and the celebration for His resurrection that gives us eternal life.

 Verses of the Day:
I Corinthians 11:23-26 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.

Prayer for the Day:
Lord Jesus, prepare Your church for worship on Sunday as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper together.  Even now, prepare my heart to engage You.  You are the source of our salvation, the very bread of life and living water for our soul.

Thursday, March 1, Day 12 of the 40 Days of Prayer, 1 Day of Celebration: The 2018 prayer focus in preparation of our worship of Christ for His death for our sins and the celebration for His resurrection that gives us eternal life. 

Verses of the Day:
Luke 22:19-20 And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood.” 

Prayer for the Day:
My hope is in You, Lord Jesus.  I believe that You died for me.  I believe that Your broken body and the blood You shed has brought me life.  Oh may my heart continually remember and abide in this precious truth.
