Day 11 of the 40 Days of Prayer, 1 Day of Celebrations

Wednesday, February 28, Day 11 of the 40 Days of Prayer, 1 Day of Celebration: The 2018 prayer focus in preparation of our worship of Christ for His death for our sins and the celebration for His resurrection that gives us eternal life.

Verses of the Day:
Luke 22:14-18 When the hour had come, He reclined at the table, and the apostles with Him. And He said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; for I say to you, I shall never again eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He said, “Take this and share it among yourselves; for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes.”

Prayer for the Day:
Our gracious Savior, we long for the day when You will bring the fullness of Your kingdom upon us. In the midst of Your preparation for suffering on the night of Your betrayal, we find our future hope in Your sacrifice for us. May I be always aware of that future blessed hope that awaits all who have believed in You.

Day 10 of the 40 Days of Prayer, 1 Day of Celebrations

Tuesday, February 27, Day 10 of the 40 Days of Prayer, 1 Day of Celebration: The 2018 prayer focus in preparation of our worship of Christ for His death for our sins and the celebration for His resurrection that gives us eternal life.

Verses of the Day:
John 15:29-33 His disciples said, “…Now we know that You know all things, and have no need for anyone to question You; by this we believe that You came from God.” Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe? Behold, an hour is coming, and has already come, for you to be scattered, each to his own home, and to leave Me alone; and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

Prayer for the Day:
The disciples abandoned You, Oh Lord.  In the words of the hymn writer, I too am “prone to wander, Lord I feel it.  Prone to leave the God I love.” So, “Here’s my heart Lord, take and seal it, seal it for Your courts above.”  In this world we have trouble, but You have overcome the world.

Day 9 of the 40 Days of Prayer, 1 Day of Celebrations

Monday, February 26, Day 9 of the 40 Days of Prayer, 1 Day of Celebration: The 2018 prayer focus in preparation of our worship of Christ for His death for our sins and the celebration for His resurrection that gives us eternal life.

Verses of the Day:
John 14:1-6 “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way where I am going.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

Prayer for the Day:
Lord Jesus, we live in troubled times and we need You every moment of every day.  We especially need Your faithful, eternal promises.  There is an eternal dwelling place in the Father’s house for me because of Your life, death and resurrection.  Jesus, I confess that You are the way, the truth and the life. You are my only access to God the Father.
